What you hear gets woven into who you are when you start to speak it. Confession. Testimony. Prayer. Shared Scripture in small groups. When your tongue agrees with Heaven, something shifts in you.

Do the Word
“Be doers of the word, and not hearers only.” — James 1:22
Hearing without doing is self-deception. Faith takes shape in action — serving, giving, showing up for someone else’s struggle, obeying the quiet nudge of the Spirit.

Live the Word
“It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.” — Galatians 2:20
The first three verbs done consistently over time produce a fourth thing — a life. Not a program completed. Not a course graduated. A life transformed. You stop doing the Word as a project and start living as the Word’s person.
This is the long arc of Harbor City discipleship. It takes years. It’s worth it.
Steps, and waves.
Discipleship has a shape. It’s sequential — hearing builds into speaking, speaking into doing, doing into a transformed life. That’s the step part.
But it’s also a spiral. You walk the whole thing in a year, and it changes you. Then you walk it again — and it changes you more, because the you who’s walking it the second time isn’t who you were the first time. That’s the wave part.
Steps give discipleship structure. Waves give it depth. A year of Hear, Speak, Do produces a new way to Live. A lifetime of them produces a saint.
